It took me a long time to understand that the reason we men exist is to make our wives/girlfriends/companions happy. Our single mission is to be by their side when they need us and be very quiet when they don't want us around (and also to be able to know the difference without asking).
Of course some times we won't be able to do things right, after all we are only men, but that's alright because the important thing is always try our best and thank God she chose us and gives us the chance and the privilege to keep trying.
